On Thursday March 2nd 1952 at the Kingshead Hotel in Cirencester a group of motoring enthusiasts from the Cirencester Tigers Motor Cycle Club, the Royal Agricultural Car Club and others from the area, founded the Cirencester Car Club.
So in 2012 we shall be 60 years old and we intend to celebrate the occasion
by inviting all past and present members to a luncheon at the Royal Agricultural
College,
preceded by a touring run in the area, for those who wish to take part.
In the following Spring the club organised a 400 mile road run/rally
to Aberystwyth and back and although we do not intend to re-create this
event, which started on the Saturday afternoon and continued throughout
the night finishing back in Cirencester on the next afternoon, we are
planning a commemorative run over much of the route
staying overnight at a hotel in mid-Wales.
The provisional dates for these events are :-
Luncheon - Sunday May 20th
Road run – Sat/Sun 9th./10th. June
Updates will be posted on this site, as and when they are available, as will any other commemorative events which members wish to organise.
